Brynn McKenry talks with actress Emmy Rossum (from Shameless, The Phantom of the Opera, The Day After Tomorrow, and Poseidon) about her new Cotton "The Fabric of My Life" campaign and how one pair of jeans can change a family's life.
She is currently working on her second album,“Sentimental Journey,” a collection of 1940s standards, which will be released in early 2013. She is the spokesperson for “Cotton, From Blue to Green” which is a program where people can donate their old jeans and they are recycled into sustainable building materials for communities in need. To date this program has received nearly 850,000 pieces of denim resulting in over 1.7 million square feet of insulation. That’s approximately 531 tons of denim diverted from landfills The average American owns seven pairs of jeans.. But tens of thousands of them are discarded each year, and many end up in overflowing landfills.
